I have tried everything there (disabling secure boot, reinstalling MR and PE components and deleting everything under c:\programdata\macrium\reflect\windows kits and c:\boot\macrium first, with no success. I know you visited my thread on the Macrium Support Forum. It is just the screen resolution when booting in to the WinPE, is such that it makes it almost unusable in terms of selecting a backup image. This is not the case if I boot from my rescue media CD, nor if I restore an AU 1607 image I have rolled back from where the WinPE screen resolution is fine.Ī restore from within Macrium, requiring a reboot via the PE, works fine. I had to restore using the rescue media, and the MFT issue is thankfully resolved.Ĭould the MFT, chkdsk and the boot menu resolution issues be related? Hope there are no deep-seated problems on this laptop requiring a clean install.Ĭlick to expand. Thanks is screwed is when I select the Macrium Reflect System Recovery option in the Recovery Boot Menu, the WinPE screen is at a resolution of 640x480 with no other options available under 'Other Tasks'>'Screen Resolution'. So I decided to restore an earlier image and noticed the resolution problem, which was not there before. On reboot however, the countdown began, but chkdsk did not run, even in safe mode. xml tasks?ītw I only noticed this after I got an error from my scheduled Macrium backup that my MFT was corrupt and I needed to run chkdsk c: /r. But if so, will a reinstall preserve my settings and. I don't suppose a reinstall of MR would fix this.

My laptop is HD.Īny suggestions on how to fix this from the boffins out there? I saw that there is an option in the WinPE to change screen resolution under 'Other tasks' but all I am offered is 640x480 32 bit. I have tried rebuilding the WinPE and running the 'no menu' and then creating the menu again, but no luck. I am using the WinPE 10 64-bit and the rescue media looks and works fine. The resolution is all wrong and it is unusable. Suddenly the Macrium boot menu on my primary laptop is screwed. I am sure Macrium can do this, just wanted to confirm with your guys before going at it since I have not used Macrium for a longer time. DBAN and put on it whatever I like after the cleaning with only two partitions on it (one for OS & one for data), will I be able to restore all the default factory partitions from the prior default factory state with the disk image created with Macrium?ĭoing this for a friend and in case they like to give away or sell the laptop later on it would be great to have the default Lenovo partitions and data back on the drive like it was.

Meaning if after the OS image was done correctly I go over the disk with e.g. 45 GB of data on the various partitions as well as the various partition tables and sizes? Since I have not used Macrium in a long time, am I correct assuming that when I hit "image this disk" it will back up the ca. The default disk and partitions look like this including Lenovo restore partitions, etc.
